Auction Methods
There are two methods of “Selling at Auction”.
The first method is absolute and is when the item or property is sold to the
highest bidder. An absolute auction is a more successful method since it tends
to bring a larger crowd because people come in hopes of buying at bargain
prices. Sales of personal property or chattels are always absolute.
The second method of an auction is a sale with a minimum or “reserve”. An
auction with a reserve gives the seller the right to reject the highest bid
after all bids are taken. At no time does the Auction Company divulge the
minimum bid required.
